Christmas Decorations

Over the years I have gotten rid of most of my yard art but a good friend that I use to do craft shows with and went to church with made these two items for me ! It's been several years and the weather had worn the paint somewhat so redid some of it! Kathy dies a couple of years ago and she is really brought to mind this time of the year when I pull out things she made me! Frosty's hat looks sorta strange in the pic but the new glitter paint I used on the black hat is showing whiter in the pic than it really is, Kathy Ford you are missed friend!
Okay I needed a new wreath my old one passed on to the recycle world it had gotten so bad so to go with my other snowmen and snow gals I went on a hunt at Jo Ann's for something to go with them and found some $1.oo items to paint to get it going! Also found some half balls and a star in my stash.

Next  also found some more items at Jo Ann's and they all were 50 to 60 % off! The leaves and balls and part of the floral has glitter bling Yummy!

The wreath is one I had bought last year on clearance!

I painted the mask and removed the stick from the back and outlined it all in black and attached the eyes and star and glitzed up thee $1.00 snowflake also then got to attaching all of the finds to my wreath and made me a big bow that I also added some of the ribbon to my old items!

also added a silver ornament "Believe" to the snowflake

I think Kathy is smiling down on my revamp repaint job to get more years out of her artwork and adding mine to the two items!

So many of my Christmas items were in need of repair after last years cold temps and then the horrible summer temps up in my attic last year. So may that I did not get all my decorations out this year!
And I still am making presents and finishing others . Needless to say waiting for payday Friday to even be able to finish shopping this year! Will try and post the two larger presents after Christmas!
Well till next time keep creating and next post I'll show you the goodies I got from my secret Santa in Art Group!

Staying busy and Home bound getting old!

Man the walls just seem to creep in when you know you can't go anywhere without someone driving you or being there to help you see the ground in front for you. But talked Jeff into taking me to the crop NRH Baptist Church tomorrow night and dropping me off with nothing to work on , and just sit and visit with my crop buddies that have not seen in ages.

these two top pics are things
working on in before pics Santa tin is from those popcorn gifts you get at Christmas and the shoe is for a challenge from http://tensecondsstudio.com bought the shoes to be altered at Thriftown for 2.99 and gonna enter 2 different ideas and got two small baby shoes already done but can't find my camera Jami had it last weekend after me so no telling what is on it or where it is. The Santa Tin is gonna be one of my waste baskets in craft room still working on it not happy with it yet but here it is so far dents and all.
Oh and Toshe on back of the couch.
Got to go out today , Jami and I went and had our sushi fix and then walked around antique mall to get my minutes of walking in. Found some things and will post after camera is found.

Those red things are swirly redbirds they don't really show in the pic that way.
That was the only paper not scraps on it.

Can't wait to turn in some of my challenges though. And Cheryl was surprised when bought stuff from her that I was gonna enter it. I told her nothing keeps me from crafting if I can devise a way to do it. Tyler put my sewing machine on large books to get it to eye level on my table for me this weekend. Bless his soul he also has helped me do batch cooking for Jeff's lunches last couple of days doing chopping and lifting the heavy items. Mom thinks he is a stinker but he has been an angel as well as Toby and TJ through this. They constantly come do things for me. Don't know what kinda schedule Jami is gonna have at Romano's their new restaurant, Jason wants her to work at least 2 days a week. They already have worked day and night cleaning up past owners messes with paint and walls that were not put up properly. But hey have already bringing the sales up sinceunder New ownership was publicised in Decatur paper.
Well time to get off here and get meds and go to bed.
Keep creating !

Been busy!

Some of the things that have kept me busy....Haven't blogged as much with trying to get Christmas done. I have nearly got the pain back to where I can't stand it and need to go back but trying so hard to wait until after the holidays. This is one of the double sided pendants to interchange with anothe pendant to follow. This side is my sisters and me fishing! This is the other side of my parents and big sis before lil sisters and me came along! The next few pics are the neclace that this pendant will interchange with.. Pmc and shell...The earrings have a brick texture, and the neck pendant has Faith hope and love texture and brick on backside. the small charm on back connection has music texture.

The next items are PMC pendants that will go on 18 inch S. silver and be able to change out...Remember the heart plate holder I was working on for grandson to hang swords on I finished it also.....

The finished metal is with a celtic shape and painted the rest black.
It turned out pretty cool. Working on old photos and putting together a n album for Brother in Law, hope I can finish it although doing it really plain with no bells and whistles..Think it will work though.

Keep creating and hopefully I will be back before Christmas for some more items Finished.
MayGod Bless you in the days to come!

Living Christmas Tree and too much shopping!

This a frame I metaled for Jami for Christmas so that it would fit in to the front rooms decor, think she will like it I hope? The pick is of Mom before the alzheimers took over.

This is plate rack turning into sword holder...Sanded finish down then painted it Glossy black now gotta add some black and silver metal to cover the heart on it so it will manly for him

Man was trying so hard not to go anywhere in the mall with all those people and my son in law sent me after some things for the grand kids that they did not even have after he told me that they did.
It felt very claustrophobic to me ...Me no likely! Way tooo crowded in there....

Casey , my hubby , and I all went to the Living Christmas tree at church tonight and it was awesome our multi media crew the choir and the hand bells and the orchestra really sounded great...The music and the message was fantastic...Miss being in it maybe next year I will be feeling up to all the rehearsals and the standing in the tree that long, but it was wonderful to see our choir and director do such a great job on it and hopefully it touched alot of people over the last two nights and tomorrows Matinee performance!
Gotta work on Tylers sword holder tomorrow and get it finished and wrapped....Along with a bunch of others...Got the boys rope chains for their charms I made them for Christmas gotta get the bails done on the charms.

Busy and life in general!

Well it took a blogging friend to make me realize how long it had been since I actually updated the blog site..So here we go ..Been busy at Jami's and with Christmas gifts and my health has bogged me down some..Have helped get all her stuff at the new house hung and took over the frame that for a whole year had the adopted relatives hanging in the frame now it has relatives that actually belong and it all hangs in the western room so put pics with me my mom Jason's grandparents in western garb Jeff and Clint with their horses when he was littler and then her grandfather Cook and his brother on a horse. TJ is already playing music on all his snow globes, he just loves them.

Here is a look at 2 classes took lately pics of the tag make and swap are really blurry sorry.
Then did a countdown calendar for me which is shown and one for the grand kids which is not shown..lots of pieces their calendar had even more because they are taking off each day and replacing with puzzle pieces that tell our savior birth.

Also did some Styrofoam trees for both Jami and I and I have mine right now on coffee table so that I actually have a tree in the room, Gotta put a tree up for real when get caught up with presents...Will post some of them tomorrow and coming days hopefully. The angel is one I did yrs ago in ceramics and then painted. Bought 2 cute deer that I have placed under Moms cake plate on the other side.try and get pic tomorrow.

The saga of my vertebrae goes on ...Went Monday to pain management follow up and the things that have started coming back means the pain will come back SO also. He said I am candidate for surgery..Have decided to not go back to doc until after the first of year to talk about next steps. Blood pressure has also gone up with each visit and he said it is side of the steroids in the shots...great....enough of that gotta go finish something and get area picked up and moved around so we can put up a small tree at least.
Keep creating and enjoy each others company and love during a season for great celebration Christs Birth!

Thanksgiving and Black friday

Thanksgiving is hard not having Mom with us!18 this year and I am not much of a crowd person and neither is Jeff and my boys, Now Jami seems to like it as well as the rest of the kids and Jason.

But thankful for the family that cold be with us, Brother in law Clint has a hard time on crutches so he was semi using a wheel chair to get around us in close quarters...TJ almost made his weight in eating all the black olives and the deviled eggs.

Left Clint and Loris house to go to my daughters to spend the night with the kids, so the could go be crazy shopping at 4am to 12pm, they did get some of the kids gifts but couldn't get close to a lot of it, I went this evening when things slowed down and I got two peoples gifts and groceries, Jeff was sweet to go and help with the stuff I can't lift with my problem....He HATES shopping of any kind, bless his soul for loving me and puttin him up to doin it tonight.

People go sooooo crazy on this sale day of the season and really don't know why it is termed black Friday! Maybe describes some of the behavior.
Nearly thru with two advent calendars hopefully can get pics up tomorrow!

Need to get some pics of the house we have been hanging pics and moving stuff around to get a tree in the small den left at three and she was still doin lights when I left this afternoon and she called while i was in Walmart at 8 to say she had gotten all of the tree done and the wreath on the door. Now for the rest...LOL..that is an understatement if she puts up as many lights this year as last year at the other house.

Fell on our stoop down to the den and have really payed in the pain and bruise department.

Not good when I have so much to do.....

Have a great week-end and beginning of the heart warming season of Christmas!

create a wonderful sense of joy and crafting around you...Denise
