The Family Reunion canvas!

Posting Pics for the things in last blog to be mounted on.. Well about over did it going this weekend to a Fri crop and Sat to a PMC class and then working on these. When I get my pieces back from class I will post them, maybe around Friday...My pain is a doozy today but decided to post these before I do the next step which is paint. I really have never tried this but TenSeconds studio had some they have done and love theirs so Megan told me sorta what to do and here is my efforts....
I used caulk for the house .cheesecloth, rubber mat pieces for holding rug to floor, heishi beads, old Tacks , beads ,clock pieces ,game pieces etc......Messy but fun!
while I was in a mess and to use up the caulk I had opened I did two more canvases to play with in reverse so I can inset whatever I decide to put in them, The one below this shows a close up on the tiny marbles I used as a texture....more watch parts...

another closeup of some of the gunky mess
This is the third canvas not as many do dads on it, mostly textured....
Not sure I should have put all the peices of dodads on before painting but this is trial and error for me ,( Hopefully not more error just happy mistakes)... Now if I can get the paint to do what I want it to do , I will be doin good, Just will have to wait for a better day, with less pain.....

Hope you have a great week of creating !
God bless

Found this and Jeff came in a while ago from going to see his mother who has Alzheimer's. We both miss her She was both of best friends as well as mother and it really hurts to see her the way she is. This is a disease that hits so many family's and it is so HARD!
I love this song and the person who put the pics with it did a good job! You might want a hanky if you are emotional like me!

Till next time Denise

Still Hurting but creating!

Sneak peak of what you will see later in this blog and to plug in that if you live in the Mid Cities are of Fort Worth some cool things are happening in FT Worth , Ten Seconds Studio is having a warehouse sale 8am to 5pm October 10 and 11 at 4170 Willman Ave.Even better you could schedule yourself to go Saturday the 11th to both the warehouse sale at TSS Then head down the Glenview Road to Michaels in Hurst to see Tim Holtz doing demos at their Grand Re-opening, Cool Beaners! Alchol Inks I used here is one of the items he promotes for Ranger. hey and dont forget Tim and a bunch of different people will be on
QVC program "Paper Crafting with the PROS '
and he has a cute kit he will be selling the 23rd of Sept at Texas time 2a-3a, then 10a-11a,and then lastly 2p-3p, their are scrapbooking before that also but this has got some they are coming into newer techniques.

Okay this is bad because I was in pain but doodling trying to get some different eyes.....Then....
Jeff took me to Barnes and Noble and I came home with lots of goodies as you can see below....
"Taking Flight" by Kelly Rae Roberts is what I went looking for and Somerset mags and look what he let me buy , he is good to me. Really love "Taking Flight"......
Well you know I told you I went and played at TenSecond Studios the other day was hurting to bad to take some pics of progress so here they are! I am taking the canvases that are smaller to mount a old family Reunion pic and a twin pic to mount on the larger canvas with the word Family. These have the backs of the canvases covered and embossed with multiple TSS embossing plates and their TSS brown metal then inked backside with the Ranger inks Tim Holtz always uses, this time I did Butter scotch and Rust and washed the back of canvas with a watered down brown acrylic, and cut the window in an X and curled it back after attaching the metal and on finished I will attach my photo inside
On the above shows part of the mache F that i have also covered in the same way! this is my last letter that I purchased from Recollections before they closed down, been hanging onto it ,but it will go with this to the family auction..... Below is how I will lay out after I texture, paint ,and distress the canvas and propably wash the wood letters with some brown...Hoping to match up the colors from the ink on the big canvas...
Well until next time ...Keep Crafting and have Blessed Day
And also I finally get to go and seethe Main specialist on nerve and pain Management Doc tomorrow! I have waited soooo long to hear what they can do and now it has gone to both arms and my back...Praying he does something very soon!

Too much Fun at TenSecond Studios today!

Well went and got some things accomplished At TenSeconds Studio today...It is so much fun when you work around others than always alone although alone time is good too....Thought I was doing good until three rolled along and pain started up good, guess I pushed a good day right off into the gutter...Megan is always fun and as usual my project morphed itself into something better under the studio roof, will post pics of the canvas I working on . It is still in peices at this time and just wanted to get a post up here while I had a chance... Here are some stamps that I very roughly carved out to us in my journals. Had not shown them so here they are. They kind of blurry sorry! First ones I have ever attempted since High School and man that was a long time ago...70's but then that is ancient to my grandkidds...LOL

Keep crafting and God Bless you

Scrapstashers projects

Well today was a better day sleep wise after my trip to the sleep doctor yesterday. Really did not know if I needed to try to go to my favorite classes from http://www.cr8joyworkshops.com , I love it because I use my items from home and you really never know what you are making till you get there , except when she tells you to bring a canvas or a plate like these done on August for the canvas and the plate that we did this morning.

The canvas was painted black before class and then we brought our strips of scraps and bling and walla we made a canvas ...Oh she told us to bring a black 12x12 cardstock and she cut all of our sheets there on the cricut....

The plate was this time and I chose a cheap gold plate charger hince the reasons the pics did not come out too clear, too much glare. told us to bring glossy mod podge glue dots, rubons, and papers to go with our plate choice and colors in pictures, ribbon and buttons. I chose not to use ribbon since mine was all kinda heritage looking so used a lot of my old family buttons a lot of which were mother of pearl, brass,or pearl, some black ones too. this one ids of my hubbys family so now I need to do one for mine to go with it, think I am gonna hang them in my room..not sure yet...Till next time keep crafting and scrapping those memories.
